Position Summary
The Lead CNC Machinist will oversee 2nd shift machining operations, ensuring production stays on schedule while maintaining exceptional quality standards. This role combines hands-on machining with leadership responsibilities, including guiding team members, troubleshooting complex machining issues, and supporting high-precision manufacturing work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead 2nd shift machining operations and ensure production targets are met
Set up and machine complex, high-precision components
Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize downtime
Maintain tight tolerances and ensure adherence to quality standards
Support, mentor, and provide guidance to machining team members
Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements accurately
Collaborate with engineering and inspection to ensure part conformance
Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work practices
Qualifications
Required Experience
7+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-precision environment (aerospace or defense preferred)
Prior leadership or lead machinist experience required
Strong blueprint reading skills and deep understanding of GD&T
Preferred Skills
5-axis CNC machining experience
Experience working with Inconel, Titanium, or other exotic materials
Strong problem-solving skills in complex machining environments
