Company Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead CNC Machinist / Fabrication Shop Lead to play a key role in the next phase of our company’s growth. This position supports a manufacturer of large pumping systems specializing in service, repair, refurbishment, installation, and new system builds. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to oversee production from concept through completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and supervise shop operations, overseeing the build process from start to finish
- Perform aluminum welding and fabrication
- Machine parts to precise specifications using multi-axis CNC equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical principles and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Inspect components during production to identify defects and ensure compliance with specifications and work instructions
- Set up, adjust, and operate both manual and CNC machining centers to perform precision operations
- Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines
- Monitor machining processes, including speeds and feed rates, to ensure efficiency and adherence to tolerances
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical instructions to determine machining methods and sequences
- Select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials based on job requirements
Minimum Requirements
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CNC programming certification or documented training strongly preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 annually
