Description

As the Lead Estimator / Preconstruction Manager, you will guide the estimating department, set best practices, and work directly with leadership to ensure precise and competitive proposals across all phases of preconstruction. You'll manage a team of three estimators and collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients on high-impact projects from concept through bid.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead all preconstruction activities including take-offs, cost estimation, and value engineering
  • Create and manage project budgets, bid strategies, and preliminary schedules
  • Mentor and manage a team of 3 estimators
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure seamless project handoff
  • Review architectural and MEP drawings to ensure accuracy in estimates
  • Lead subcontractor outreach and competitive bid analysis
  • Interface directly with clients, design teams, and trade partners

Profile

We're looking for a seasoned estimator with strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for setting a high standard. You should be able to hit the ground running and thrive in a fast-paced environment where quality and speed matter.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • 5-10 years of estimating experience
  • Background with government, institutional, and K-12 construction
  • Deep understanding of construction trades and materials
  • Strong knowledge of take-offs, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and estimating software
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
