If you're a strategic thinker with a sharp editorial instinct who loves turning brand strategy into language people actually feel, this could be the role for you.Benefits & PerksHybrid work scheduleMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchEmployee referral bonusesEducation assistanceEmployee discount on KURU footwear30–60% discounts on hundreds of brands through ExpertVoiceWhat You'll DoDefine and evolve KURU's voice and tone across digital, physical, and experiential brand touchpoints.Lead creative concept development for campaigns, launches, and key brand moments, anchoring each in a clear and compelling idea.Write and edit high-priority copy yourself-not just assign briefs or manage other writers.Translate brand positioning and strategy into language that connects with people.Set the standard for copy quality across video, web, email, paid media, product naming, packaging, and retail.Collaborate closely with the Art Director, designers, video team, marketing channels, eCommerce, and merchandising to ensure copy and visual creative work together seamlessly.Build and maintain a living voice and tone guide that provides the broader team with a clear, usable foundation.Mentor and elevate other writers and cross-functional contributors who create or influence copy.Partner with the Head of Brand and marketing leadership to push KURU's language into more distinctive, ownable territory.Build and maintain professional relationships with employees, management, executives, vendors, customers, and external partners.Perform other duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required.8+ years of experience in copywriting, brand writing, or creative direction, ideally within DTC, lifestyle, footwear, or consumer health; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual range, including brand storytelling, campaign work, product copy, and long-form content-not just taglines.Experience owning or significantly shaping a brand voice, rather than only executing within an established voice.Fluency writing across channels and formats, including short-form, long-form, digital, and print.Sharp editorial instincts and the ability to write clearly and effectively under pressure.Ability to balance creative ambition with commercial awareness.Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate why creative and word choices matter and bring others along.Ability to communicate and present information with clarity and precision.Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and adapt effectively to change.Ability to collaborate and work well with others in a team environment.Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in eCommerce or performance-driven environments.Experience within DTC, lifestyle, footwear, or consumer health brands.Experience developing, evolving, or maintaining brand voice and tone guidelines.Physical & Work RequirementsWork is generally performed in an office environment.
