JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Lead Counselor

Pay Grade: AP4

Duty Days: Dependent on the level of school

Salary: KISD Current Staff Compensation Plan for Administrators.

Qualifications: Valid Texas teacher's certificate as required by the State Board of Education Certification. Valid Texas school counselor certificate as required by the State Board of Education Certification Duties include but are not limited to the following: Oversee the management of counseling programs in the school. Oversee the management of personnel in the counseling office. Assist the administrative team in the development of the master schedule. Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance, including counseling services. Teach the school development guidance curriculum. Assist teachers in the teaching of guidance related curriculum. Guide individual and groups of students through the development of educational plans and career awareness. Counsel individual students with presenting needs/concerns. Counsel small groups of students with presenting needs/concerns. Use accepted theories and techniques appropriate to school counseling. Work Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional irregular hours.
