GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To maintain clean facilities for students and staff to promote a positive learning environment. Performs routine daily tasks that occur durning the school day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform minor repairs, adjustments of school furniture and fixtures such as desks, light bulbs, and doors, move furniture and equipment as needed;
- Maintain records/log of maintenance service and repairs performed;
- Conduct frequent inspections of school facilities;
- Minor repair around campus/site;
- Set up furniture and equipment needed for special events, meetings, and classes;
- Sweep walkways, pick up paper and trash;
- Replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes;
- Move furniture and equipment;
- Performs minor maintenance throughout the school;
- Respond to immediate cleaning requirements DURING the school day;
- Assist with start-up and closing of school;
- Generate work requests from maintenance;
- Coordinate work orders generated at school site;
- Conducts training and provides advise to other custodians;
- Prepares orders for district custodial supplies;
- Replaces light bulbs, towels, soap and other supplies as needed;
- Maintains inventory for custodial supplies once dispensed to school sites;
- Schedules substitutes for custodial staff, as needed;
- Reports any problems or mechanical failures to Director of Maintenance;
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- At least two years of supervisory experience, preferred.
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff and the public.
B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance

responsibility for valuable equipment,
EVALUATION PROCEDURE: In accordance with provisions specified in Governing
Board policy.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Night Custodial Supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Oversees work of other district Custodians, as requested.
