Facilities360 is seeking a dependable, professional, and motivated Lead Custodian / Working Supervisor to join our team in the Monroe County, Michigan area. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an experienced custodial professional who enjoys maintaining high cleaning standards while leading and supporting a team.
As a Lead Custodian / Working Supervisor, you will oversee daily custodial operations within a school environment while actively participating in cleaning and facility maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, support, and motivate custodial staff
- Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance tasks
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Train, coach, and assist team members in proper cleaning procedures
- Coordinate daily work assignments, scheduling, and coverage
- Communicate effectively with school administration and management
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory
- Enforce safety protocols, security procedures, and best practices
- Address custodial concerns and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain records of cleaning activities and staff performance
Daily Duties May Include
- Classroom cleaning and sanitation
- Restroom cleaning and disinfecting
- Trash collection and removal
- Floor care, mopping, and vacuuming
- Cleaning of hallways and common areas
- School-day porter services
- Event setup, breakdown, and support as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of custodial supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment and materials as required
