Description

Deloitte is seeking a Lead Data Engineer- Databricks to support the design, build, and delivery of modern data and analytics solutions for clients across industries. In this role, you will help teams translate business needs into scalable data platform capabilities using Databricks and cloud-based technologies. The ideal candidate brings strong experience leading delivery teams, advising stakeholders, and driving solution execution across complex environments.

Work you'll do

  • Leading the design and delivery of Databricks-based data and analytics solutions for client engagements
  • Managing project teams and workstreams across requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Translating business and technical requirements into scalable data pipelines, data models, and platform capabilities
  • Advising client stakeholders on architecture, implementation approaches, and operating model considerations for modern data platforms
  • Overseeing solution quality, issue resolution, and delivery progress while supporting project economics and timeline management

The Team

This team supports clients as they modernize their data environments and build scalable platforms for analytics, reporting, and decision-making. Professionals in this area work across strategy, architecture, implementation, and deployment to help organizations improve how they manage and use data. The team often collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to deliver cloud-enabled, enterprise-scale solutions.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of experience delivering data engineering, analytics, or cloud data platform solutions
  • 3+ years of experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
  • 3+ years of experience with Python and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • 2+ years of experience leading project teams or workstreams
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or MLflow
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience designing batch and streaming data pipelines
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, or platform security controls
  • Experience supporting client presentations, proposals, or solution demonstrations

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $134,500 to $265,100.
