Lead DC‑DC Converter Design Engineer

Sub Max:

Pay Rate: $ to $100.00

Duration: (6 Months contract to hire)

Shift: 9/80

Let’s get right to it — are you the engineer who can say “yes” to these?

  • Can you architect and deliver DC‑DC and other power converters from concept through production, spanning tens of Watts to hundreds of kilowatts?
  • Do you move confidently across power, analog, high‑voltage analog, mixed‑signal, and digital domains?
  • Are LTspice/PSpice and MATLAB/Simulink your go‑to simulation environments?
  • Have you guided PCB layout using Altium Designer or Mentor Graphics and overseen the details that make great hardware manufacturable?
  • Do you thrive at the bench with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and electronic loads, hunting down tricky issues?
  • Have you mentored junior engineers and communicated complex ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences?

What you’ll tackle

  • Design and analysis: own architecture, perform worst‑case assessments, run simulations, and direct PCB layout.
  • Bring‑up and verification: execute initial power‑up, integration, verification, and deep‑dive troubleshooting.
  • Production support: partner with manufacturing to ensure smooth builds and on‑time delivery.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: align with electrical, mechanical, software, systems, test, and program teams from proposal and feasibility through test, production, and field support.

Background we’re seeking

  • Expertise in DC‑DC converter and broader power converter development.
  • Experience across avionics systems; electrical/electronic systems; equipment installation and wiring; electrical schematics; PCB components and assembly; CAD tools.
  • Analytical problem solver with a track record of untangling complex technical issues.
  • Skilled communicator and team leader/mentor.

Experience/Education

  • Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of related experience; or 13+ years related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years relevant; Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years related; or 10+ years related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • BSEE or MSEE preferred.

Where your designs go

From spacecraft power and electric propulsion to rugged platforms on land, sea, and in the air—your designs will operate in some of the most demanding environments.
