Lead Service Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Compensation: $33.50 – $37.00/hour

Position Overview

The Lead Service Technician is responsible for overseeing field service activities including maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and power-related systems. This role combines advanced technical troubleshooting with team leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support field technicians in performing maintenance, repairs, and installations on electrical and power systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues across a variety of systems and components
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members
  • Coordinate service work with internal teams, customers, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and equipment records
  • Order and manage parts, tools, and materials needed for service work
  • Support customer interactions by explaining technical issues and solutions clearly
  • Assist with technical input during customer meetings or project planning
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service needs

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing electrical or power systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Experience working with backup power, battery systems, or similar equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor other technicians in the field
  • Strong communication skills with both customers and internal teams
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass required background and screening processes

Preferred Background
  • Technical certification or Associate’s degree in electrical or related field
  • Experience in critical power environments, industrial systems, or similar settings
  • Familiarity with inverters, control systems, and battery technologies

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs independently and heavier loads with assistance
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments including industrial sites and outdoor settings
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Strong manual dexterity for hands-on technical work
