Overview

Lead Dental Assistant

Novick Endodontics

 

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Lead Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will support our providers during treatment, help deliver an outstanding patient experience, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the practice. This role requires advanced competency in chairside assisting, sterilization protocols, and patient communication, as well as the ability to support front desk operations including patient check‑in, check‑out, and scheduling.

 

Novick Endodontics is a patient centered specialty practice in Charlotte dedicated to providing comfortable, high quality endodontic care through advanced technology and evidence based techniques. Our team values exceptional communication, efficient treatment, and a supportive experience for both patients and the referring dentists who trust us with their care.

 

Schedule: Full Time, 4 days a week


Responsibilities

  • Provide chair-side clinical support to Drs by assisting, charting, patient education, operatory set-up and clean-up
  • Deliver a superior patient experience at all phases of their appointment
  • Take and process X-Rays
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatories
  • Welcome, comfort and educate patients on oral hygiene and post treatment care
  • Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality and follow workplace regulations
  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure a smooth check‑in process

  • Verify patient information, update demographics, and confirm insurance details when needed

  • Assist with checking out patients, including scheduling follow‑up appointments and collecting payments

  • Communicate treatment notes or updates to the front office to ensure accurate routing and billing

  • Help answer phones during high‑volume times and assist with routing calls appropriately

  • Support referral intake by gathering necessary documentation and entering information accurately

  • Please note that additional responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • DA II certification
  • 5+ years of Dental Assisting experience

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • Reliable, organized, and comfortable in a high-level clinical setting
