About the Role:
The Lead Dental Assistant is a senior clinical role. You will be the primary chairside partner to the doctor and will also own our sterilization and compliance program, manage relationships with dental laboratories and supply vendors, and, in time, help train newly hired dental assistants as the team grows.
What You Will Do:
- Provide primary four-handed chairside assistance across restorative, surgical, endodontic, and prosthetic procedures.
- Operate and oversee the practice's sterilization and infection-control program.
- Coordinate with dental laboratories on case submissions, tracking, and returns.
- Manage relationships with supply and equipment vendors.
- Capture clinical imaging and digital scans.
- Provide secondary chairside support to the hygienist as needed.
- Help onboard and mentor newly hired dental assistants as the team grows.
What We Are Looking For:
Required:
- Current Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification through the TSBDE.
- Current Texas Dental Assistant Radiology certification.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Two or more years of chairside experience in general dentistry.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC infection-control standards.
- Comfort with dental practice-management software.
Preferred:
- Three or more years of chairside experience, including a lead or senior assistant role.
- Prior experience coordinating with dental laboratories or supply vendors.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Schedule:
Full-time. Monday through Thursday with a Friday half-day. Specific hours discussed at interview.
