Lead Diesel Technician:
Step into a leadership role where your expertise keeps a major fleet running at peak performance. You'll take ownership of equipment uptime across our Fort Wayne operation — mentoring technicians & overseeing DOT compliance.

- 1st Shift: (7a-4p or 7a-5p)
- Pay: $33-40/hr
- Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Step into a leadership role where your expertise keeps a major fleet running at peak performance. You'll take ownership of equipment uptime across our Fort Wayne operation — mentoring technicians & overseeing DOT compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly DOT inspections across the full equipment fleet
- Rebuild and service Cummins engines
- Diagnose and repair Aftertreatment systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on Class 8 equipment
- Perform general repairs on all components of Class 8 trucks and trailers
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems
- Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
- Mentor and develop junior technicians on the shop floor
- Plan and manage daily workflow and job assignments
- Source and retrieve parts for the team
- Operate a forklift and maintain shop cleanliness standards
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
- Recommend improvements to shop processes and systems
- Participate in team meetings and other duties as assigned
- 5+ years in a lead technician or supervisory role
- At least 5-10 years of hands-on diesel experience with strong DOT compliance knowledge
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and regulations
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Skilled at reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced welding and fabrication capabilities
- Highly motivated with a drive to lead by example
- Team-first mindset with a commitment to the organization's success
