Lead Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Lead Driver to join our team in Augusta, GA. The Lead Driver will oversee daily driving operations, ensure timely and safe delivery of goods, and provide leadership and support to other drivers. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities

• CDL Required 
• Lead and coordinate daily driving schedules and routes to ensure efficient operations.
• Drive company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Supervise and support other drivers, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, and customers to resolve any issues.
• Assist in developing and implementing driving policies and procedures to improve safety and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns in Augusta, GA and surrounding areas.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and problem-solve effectively.
• Physical ability to load/unload goods as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
