Position: Lead EHR Pharmacy Specialist

Status: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist in the efficient daily operations of the EHR Services department. Ensure all inquiries and concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately. Monitor prescription refill requests during periods of staff shortages to ensure safe continuation of appropriate medication dose, frequency, and term. Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Review prescription refill requests for accuracy.
  • Become familiar with medication names, both brand and generic.
  • Provide backup for other members of the EHR Services (EHR Pharmacy Specialist) team as needed.
  • Maintain a steady production rate during high volume times.
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient information in multiple medical applications (Greenway Intergy, PioneerRx, etc.).
  • Effectively communicate problems, existing or potential, to department leadership.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of job.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA laws, company policies, and procedures.
  • Must be open to flexible work schedule.
  • Facilitate new employee training and create training outlines and schedules.
  • Responsible for assigning additional medication request tasks to staff members as needed, due to absences.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Perform the following daily duties of the Pharmacy Services Supervisor when they are out of office:
  • Send details of absences that relate to illness to the Director of EHR Services.
  • Answer questions concerning timesheets and payroll and send all corrections to the Director of EHR Services.
  • Communicate with VP's regarding medication requests in a timely manner.
  • Manage and communicate break and lunch schedules as needed.
  • Communicate with the reporting department on updates needed to the Infinity Care Solutions Resource spreadsheet.
  • Create and submit IT or EHR support tickets.
  • Track the schedule change emails and update the Provider Off Spreadsheet if necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Experience: Three years' experience or training in the medical/pharmacy field. Three years' experience in customer service.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel; and customized software. Ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies as the organization changes.
