How Will You Make An Impact?The Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Power Systems) will lead design teams focused on unique design projects and challenges in the renewable energy industry. Typical projects may include energy storage systems, power conversion units, or industrial equipment. These systems will include high power switchgear, electrical panels and wiring, as well as industry standard control and monitoring systems.Location:This role will be based on-site at the St. Petersburg, FL – Gandy location.What Will You Do?Lead electrical designs of high-power systems from concept to production.Assist in business capture efforts, including estimations and planning.Develop product requirements from customer input.Apply applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.Select key electrical components with an emphasis on cost reduction.Design system wiring diagrams, electrical panel schematics, cable and manufacturing outputs.Perform design analysis, including DFMEA, derating analysis, arc-fault calculations, heat loss calculations, short circuit current limit calculations, etc.Develop test plans against customer requirements.Debug prototype units using standard lab equipment.Execute verification test plan using standard lab equipment.Write manufacturing test specifications.Represent Jabil Design Engineering in technical customer discussions.Perform design reviews.Provide guidance to junior engineers.How Will You Get Here?Education:A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.Experience:At least 8+ years of relative experience in electrical hardware design is required.Experience managing entire design cycles from concept to production.Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical, Creo Schematics, Eplan, etap, Solidworks Electrical, or similar.Expert level knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70), UL508A, or IEC equivalents.Design and testing of high power systems to commercial product regulatory compliance standards.Hands on debug and testing of high voltage power systems (480V) using standard lab equipment.Field commissioning of such systems.Successful transfer to mass manufacturing and commercial product launches.Exposure working with PLCs and industrial communication protocols.Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or power converter standards such as UL9540, UL1741, or UL1973 is desired, but not required.What Can Jabil Offer You?Along with growth, stability, and the opportunity to be challenged, Jabil offers a competitive benefits package that includes:Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and Vision Insurance with HRA and HSA options401K MatchEmployee Stock Purchase PlanPaid Time OffTuition ReimbursementLife, AD&D, and Disability InsuranceCommuter BenefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramPet InsuranceAdoption AssistanceAnnual Merit IncreasesCommunity Volunteer Opportunities#J-18808-Ljbffr
