    Description

    Location East Chicago INCleveland-Cliffs Steel is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support our manufacturing operations at our Indiana Harbor facility. This key leadership role will drive electrical reliability equipment performance and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex industrial environment. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise lead capital and maintenance projects and partner with operations and maintenance teams to maximize safety reliability and production performance.Summary of ResponsibilitiesLead electrical reliability and continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing operations.Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical controls and automation issues.Manage and execute maintenance and capital projects including scope budget schedule and implementation.Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.Collaborate with operations maintenance and engineering teams to support production goals.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance personnel and contractors.Ensure compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.Support outage planning equipment upgrades and commissioning activities.Provide technical support for a 247 manufacturing operation as needed.Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.5 years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing industrial or process operations.Strong troubleshooting project management and communication skills.Experience working with industrial electrical systems and equipment.Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment and support a continuous operation.Ability to support a continuous 247 operation including off-hours support when required.Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Preferred Qualifications7 years of experience in steelmaking metals mining or heavy manufacturing environments.Knowledge of medium-voltage power systems MCCs transformers switchgear and motor controls.Experience with PLCs HMIs drives instrumentation and process controls.Background in reliability engineering preventive maintenance and root cause analysis.Experience leading engineering projects in a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of OSHA NFPA 70E and industrial electrical safety standards.Previous leadership or supervisory experience.Relocationassistancemay be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.Cleveland-Cliffs is a leading North America-based steel producer with focus on value-added sheet products particularly for the automotive industry.
