The Opportunity

You'll serve as the technical lead for high-voltage circuit breaker engineering at an international electrical equipment manufacturer specializing in power distribution. Your expertise in power systems and industry standards will directly shape product configurations, guide compliance decisions, and support the execution of mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Review and analyze customer specifications, RFQs, and technical documents to ensure compliance with high-voltage circuit breaker standards
  • Evaluate designs against IEEE, ANSI, and IEC requirements, identifying deviations and recommending exceptions where needed
  • Recommend product configurations and technical solutions tailored to customer requirements
  • Review and mark up electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
  • Support technical discussions during sales and bidding processes, translating complex engineering concepts for cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production to resolve technical issues and keep projects on track
  • Contribute to product development, testing, and certification efforts, including coordination with third-party labs such as CESI/KEMA
  • Drive continuous improvement in compliance processes and documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems or the switchgear industry
  • Strong knowledge of electrical transmission, distribution, and substation equipment
  • Proven ability to review technical specifications and identify compliance issues
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Preferred: Experience with vacuum circuit breakers (38kV–145kV), testing and validation processes, and AutoCAD Electrical
