Job Summary The Lead Technician leads the electrical engineering laboratory team responsible for testing, debugging, repairing, and reworking power tools, subsystems, and electronic assemblies. The role ensures laboratory readiness, aligns work priorities with engineering leads, mentors junior technicians, and supports sustaining engineering teams through test development and data analysis.Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and coach a team of technicians to maintain an effective workforce supporting business objectives.Own technician task entry, triage incoming work requests, and maintain workload forecasting to prioritize lab resources across multiple projects.Communicate resource loading and align priorities with electrical engineering and PSE technical leads.Execute electrical, functional, and performance testing of power tools, subsystems, and electronic assemblies.Troubleshoot, rework, and repair power tools, PCBAs, and electronic subsystems using structured debug approaches.Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, data acquisition systems, and related instrumentation.Serve as the key interface between engineers and technicians regarding priority tasks in the lab.Train junior technicians on best practices for test preparation, execution, troubleshooting, and documentation.Support sustaining engineering teams through test development, data analysis, root‑cause investigation, and competitor benchmarking.Required Qualifications Associate's degree from a two‑year college or technical school.Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical/mechanical principles, test equipment, and product performance/validation test methods.Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and complex tasks with minimal oversight.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and PCB layout files (e.g., Altium).Experience with embedded systems and downloading firmware to target hardware.Strong hands‑on experience with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.Experience troubleshooting, reworking, and repairing electronic assemblies and PCBAs.Excellent problem‑solving ability, independent judgment, and the ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications Experience with portable electronics, power tools, motor controls, power electronics, power supply circuits, consumer electronics, or instrumentation and measurement systems.Leadership and mentoring experience.Benefits Robust health, dental, and vision insurance plans.Generous 401(k) savings plan.Education assistance.On‑site wellness and fitness center.Food and coffee service.Other benefits available.EEO Statement Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
