Description:
G-Net Construction is hiring a full-time Lead Electrician to support commercial construction, interior renovation, and facility maintenance work across NYC. This is a hands-on field position for an experienced electrician who can work independently, support service calls, and help guide electrician helpers when needed.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, communicates well, works neatly, and wants to grow within a structured construction and facility maintenance company.
Responsibilities:
- Perform commercial electrical work on renovation and maintenance projects
- Install outlets, switches, lighting, conduits, panels, and power feeds
- Support electrical work for HVAC equipment and building systems
- Run low voltage, telephone, IT, and fire alarm wiring as needed
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on construction and service projects
- Read and interpret electrical and architectural drawings
- Coordinate with supervisors, office staff, and other trades
- Help guide electrician helpers on daily field tasks
- Respond to occasional off-hours emergency service calls as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical field experience preferred
- OSHA-40 required for NYC field work
- Must be able to work on the books
- Must have own electrical hand tools and basic power tools
- Must communicate clearly and follow direction from supervisors
- Must work neatly and keep job sites organized
- Must have knowledge of commercial electrical work and safe work practices
- Must have basic blueprint reading skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Staten Island resident with a valid driver’s license is strongly preferred, but not required
- Experience with low voltage work is a plus
- Fire alarm wiring experience is a plus
- SST card or FDNY Certificate of Fitness is a plus
