About the Role

Picture your day beginning on a dedicated product line, where you guide a small team assembling high‑speed, tight‑tolerance machinery. You make sure people, processes, and materials are in place so the work flows safely and efficiently from blueprint to finished machine.

What You’ll Lead and Do

Your role blends hands‑on assembly with team coordination and quality ownership:

  • Confirm parts availability and resolve any missing or late components to keep builds on schedule.
  • Champion safe operations by following and reinforcing all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform and track preventive maintenance to keep tools and equipment ready.
  • Document work thoroughly in production and quality logs; communicate actions, irregularities, and follow‑ups across shifts and departments.
  • Continue developing your expertise through training and technical publications; bring back ideas that improve the line.
  • Own outcomes—take on new requests and look for ways to add value to each build.

Hands‑On Assembly and Verification

  • Position and align components manually or with hoists.
  • Set and verify precise part clearances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints/specifications; plan assembly operations accordingly.
  • Verify parts against stock lists/prints using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Install fixtures, wiring, and electrical components using hand and power tools.
  • Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts/assemblies as needed.
  • Inspect, operate, and test completed machines to verify function, capabilities, and customer specifications.
  • Continuously monitor materials, events, and environment to detect and assess problems; take corrective action.
  • Evaluate your own and the team’s performance to drive improvements.

Leadership in the Moment

  • When the Operations Manager – System Assembly is absent, keep the operation self‑directed and on track.
  • Ensure minimum staffing is maintained; if report‑offs occur, coordinate with a supervisor to ensure safety for all.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Equivalency (required).
  • AAS in electrical/mechanical engineering or auto mechanics (preferred).
  • 5+ years in high‑speed precision assembly and service.
  • Mechanical expertise in machines/tools, repair, and maintenance; experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, high‑speed precision machinery, and tight‑tolerance dynamics.
  • Strong applied mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics).
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for precision plans, blueprints, and models.

Schedule & Physical Demands

  • Typical schedule: 40–55 hours per week; may include overtime, on‑call, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Role requires frequent climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, standing, and handling materials.
