Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board!Why you'll love this jobThis job is a member of the Engineering Team within the Integrated Operations Division.Responsible for providing technical disposition for discrepancies that exceed published manual limits for all line aircraft.What you'll doHosts engineering meetings in the absence of or as directed by the BSE Sr. ManagerProvides final approval for engineering documents as directed by the BSE Sr. ManagerServes as a mentor to all BSE engineers and co-opsTroubleshoots chronic aircraft in the fieldConducts major damage assessment and temporary repair development in the fieldIssues inspection Engineering Authorizations (EAs) for emerging safety or compliance issues when timeline is criticalMaintains awareness of all open engineering issues during assigned shiftDelegates open engineering issues as required to ensure prompt resolutionAccomplishes and documents Performance Conversations for each Engineer assigned by the BSE Sr. ManagerLeads the development, substantiation, and issues repairs/approvals for discrepancies that are outside of any existing published limits (only engineering has that authority)Provides engineering work scope for troubleshooting of operational issues to determine root cause and provide corrective actionCreates American Airlines Repair Document (AARD) for recurring aircraft discrepanciesMust be willing and able to work irregular hours and shift schedules including holidays and weekendsMust be able to travelAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university6 years working history as an Engineer with aviation experienceFamiliarity with Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), maintenance programs, Engine Manual (EM), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Fault Isolation Manual (FIM), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), and Wiring Diagrams (WDM)Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job ExperienceMaster's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college/university10 years working history as engineer with aviation experienceSkills, Licenses & CertificationsKnowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.In an expedient manner, must be able to prioritize workload, solve problems, substantiate solutions using valid engineering analytical principles, document solutions with good technical writing skills, and verbally communicate solutions throughout the maintenance organizationMust be self-motivated and disciplined in work ethicsMust be able to effectively multi-task various work activities to meet the requirements of the operationAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain composure in a stressful environmentStrong Customer service focus (internal and external)Works independently and relies on experience to solve problemsProficient understanding of all Maintenance and Engineering policies and proceduresRecognized and sought out as a resource by peers and external groupsPossess good interpersonal skills to work with othersAbility to mediate and resolve conflicts between BSE employees and other departmentsWhat you'll getTravel Perks: You, your family and your friends can reach 365 destinations on more than 6,800 daily flights across our global network.Health Benefits: On day one, you'll have access to your health, dental, prescription and vision benefits to help you stay well.
