You’ve discovered something special. A company that cares. Cares about leading the way in construction, engineering, manufacturing and renewable energy. Cares about redefining how energy is designed, applied and consumed. Cares about thoughtfully growing to meet market demands. And as “one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America” is focused on the mind/body/soul of team members through our Culture of Care.

Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is searching for a Modeling and Simulation Lead Engineer to support the R&D product group in Menasha, WI.

As a Modeling & Simulation Lead Engineer in the R&D group, you will be responsible for developing advanced modeling and simulation environments for electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems and enclosures used in distributed energy resources and power distribution. Collaborating with subject matter experts, product strategy teams, and systems engineers, you will create accurate and efficient simulations that meet requirements and support product development. Furthermore, you will develop and oversee the implementation of modeling and simulation processes as critical milestones for development and validation of technologies and products within the Product Engineering organization. Through your expertise, you will play a key role in driving innovation and performance improvements in distributed energy and power distribution systems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems simulation.
  • Knowledge of multi-physics modeling software such as Simulink, Simscape, Simcenter Amesim, GT Suite, or similar OR experience with using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to develop models and conduct analysis
  • Proficient in development and use of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), model-in-loop (MIL), and/or software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation platforms
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy systems including solar, wind, power, or power distribution concepts including uninterrupted power supply, power converters, switchboards, and/or other power electronics
  • Demonstrated implementation of real-world power generation and distribution problems into complex modeling and simulation platforms
  • Demonstrated development and implementation of modular component models with scalable flexibility for various levels of simulation fidelity

What gives you an edge?

  • Experience with machine learning models generated from data a plus
  • Experience with development of SIL, MIL, and HIL platforms for verification and validation of controls software
  • Experience using multi-physics simulation software for systems, computational fluid dynamics software, or finite element analysis software for design
  • Strong understanding of controls systems, particularly battery management, thermal system management, and energy management software and development and verification through use of simulation frameworks
  • Experience using version control for modeling and simulation including Git or other similar tools
  • PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering with demonstrated simulation experience, or demonstrated engineering research background
