You will be involved in team development, client relationships, and project execution. This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building teams, business development, and leading project design teams across a variety of power generation projects.What You'll DoServe as the key technical resource for the Power Generation Design team.Responsible for establishing engineering standards, defining project execution strategies, and mentoring team members for Power Generation facilities.Lead conceptual design through detailed design efforts for:Generator SystemsMV/LV DistributionBalance of Plant (BOP) Electrical and Mechanical DesignProcess Automation & ControlComfortable with “blank paper” starting points and guiding clients and project design teams through the full design and construction process.Establish design templates, checklists, and QA/QC standards.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions.Serve as the Technical Authority in client meetings and design reviews.QualificationsYou are passionate about:Working collaboratively with others.Having ownership in the work you do.Using your talents to positively affect communities.You bring to the team:A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including experience as a Lead Engineer, Owner's Engineer, or Technical Principal.At least 4 years of experience supervising, mentoring, and/or leading technical personnel.Demonstrated ability to lead technical work while supporting multiple projects simultaneously.A strong understanding of power systems, generation interconnection, and high‑voltage infrastructure.Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary design team environments.A Professional Engineer (PE) license.Ideally, you also have:10+ years of experience in power generation, utility, or related industrial power design projects.Experience with one or more of the following: Combined Cycle, Simple Cycle, RICE, Steam, BESS, and/or Microgrids.A builder's mindset and a passion for working in environments that value autonomy and initiative.National Pay Range$118,000 - $243,000 USDBenefitsCareer development with tailored development paths.Flexible work arrangements.Engagement in work that positively impacts communities.Wellness program promoting balanced lifestyles.Traditional benefits package (health care, vision, dental, paid time off, etc.).Performance‑based bonus and merit increases.Olsson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
