Lead Engineer Utilities and FacilitiesThe Lead Engineer Utilities and Facilities is responsible for plant utility, facility, and life safety systems. The engineer leads the utilities team to ensure continuous operational coverage and maintenance. This includes equipment specification, maintenance instruction and coaching, technician development, troubleshooting and repair, and technical support for future expansion projects.Location: Longmont, COWork Arrangements: Monday-Friday with flexibility to support operations during occasional evenings, nights, or weekends, based on operational and business needs.Responsibilities Responsible for overall success of plant utilities, facilities, and life safety systemsMaintains compliance with permits and relationships with regulatory agencies and outside utility providersParticipates in daily directional setting meetings; communicates issues and action plans relative to plant utility systemsManages the plant utility team, including providing daily direction, priorities, coaching and feedbackProvides continued utilities team development through diverse education and coaching on the technical elements of facility operation with the focus of developing team membersOwns utility cost results, gap analysis, and improvement plan at the plant levelPrioritizes mechanical and electrical work of the utilities maintenance resources to maintain plantMember of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) pillar teamResponsible for maintenance planning and spare parts strategy within the department leveraging the use of Oracle eAMDevelops capital improvement projects associated with the utility systems, both for efficiency and cost reduction improvementsResponsible for the plant's waste water treatment facility and its reliable operationOwner of technical documentation for utilities and facilitiesPSM owner for facility including maintaining the ammonia refrigeration PSM program and assuring compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory agenciesMinimum Requirements 4-year technical degree preferred and/or significant demonstrated experienceAt least 3 years of plant utilities systems experience or equivalentExperience working in a food manufacturing environment is requiredTechnical knowledge of Boilers, compressors, HVAC, ammonia refrigeration, combustion systems, electrical distribution, water and sewer systems, fire systems, and miscellaneous facility systemsPreferred Qualifications Experience in environmental management including ammonia refrigeration, air emissions reporting, wastewater, spill containment and control (SPCC), and chemical reporting for State Emergency ResponseFamiliar with contract management relative to predictive technologies (infrared, vibration, oil, etc.) and outside technical contract services (ability to identify the proper technology at the correct frequency)Experience leading, teaching, or managing others effectivelyAbility to work and manage within a team environmentProficient with Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM)Experience with high-performance work systemsSelf-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervisionStrong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to organize and prioritize actions to help meet plant objectives and long-term visionEffective presentation, verbal, and written communication skillsColorado Salary Range $102,500 to $148,500We're an equal opportunity employer.
