    About the Role

Hunter Strategy is seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect at the subject matter expert level to support a new, greenfield mission with a large federal civilian agency. What You Will Do

    • Build the architectural runway for a greenfield federal program in a SAFe environment
    • Author the baseline enterprise architecture, governance framework, and technical standards artifacts during the base period
    • Work alongside the Solution Architect and Senior Data Architect to determine the enterprise architecture for the program
    • Stand up the architecture governance that development team designs and release artifacts are reviewed against
    • Maintain the enterprise architecture, governance, and standards artifacts as living Work Products across the option periods
    • Review development team designs for architectural alignment and report findings with clear, actionable recommendations

    What You Bring

    • 10+ years of enterprise or solution architecture experience
    • Experience establishing enterprise architecture in a new or transforming organization
    • Experience authoring governance frameworks and technical standards for consumption by development teams
    • Experience working in a SAFe environment, including architectural runway planning
    • Experience operating across organizational boundaries, with development teams that report elsewhere
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination

    Preferred

    • TOGAF or comparable enterprise architecture certification
    • Experience supporting federal civilian or defense programs, particularly multi-contractor environments
    • Familiarity with microservices and API-first architectures, including OpenAPI and gRPC
    • Experience reviewing designs produced by teams the architect does not manage

    Position Details

This position is contingent upon contract award, with a tentative start date of September 1, 2026.
