    Job Summary

    The Lead Environmental Services Technician will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment for employees and visitors. The lead position will be a point of contact for the department and provide support for any projects assigned by department leadership.

    "This position is eligible to work onsite at our Topeka campus. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment."

    What you'll do

    Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for daily tasks of an environmental services tech
    • Point of contact between evening shift and dept leadership
    • Point of contact for vendors when supervisor not available
    • Point of contact for BCBSKS employee requests
    • Fulfill supply requests for team members while keeping accurate inventory records and ensuring adequate stock levels to support operational needs.
    • Complete detailed inspections and reports on floor conditions
    • Responsible for team schedules and assignments if supervisor is not available

    What you need

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • Ability to read and comprehend hazardous material safety instructions
    • Great communication and organizational skills
    • General knowledge of equipment and chemicals used in Environmental Service assignments
    • Respond to and resolve team issues in a professional manner when supervisor is not available
    • Ability to perform thorough and detailed inspections with a high degree of accuracy, identify potential issues and ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
    • Communicate and reinforce departmental goals, expectations, and initiatives in support of leadership's strategic direction while building team engagement, accountability, and commitment.

    Education and Experience:
    • High school degree or equivalent
    • Experience of 2 years in Environmental Services or housekeeping functions in a large facility
    • Driver's license required
    • Prior leadership experience preferred

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to complete physical work including standing for long periods, lifting up to 20 lbs., kneeling, etc. Must be able to position yourself to stoop, bend, stretch, inspect objects in high places, be in a stationary position, vacuum, and move arms for up to 5 hours at a time. Exposure to dust and cleaning compounds.

    Compensation

    $20.96- $26.20
    Non- Exempt Grade 11
