Job Summary and Qualifications As an Electrophysiology (EP) Lead/Cath Lab Technologist, you will demonstrates the knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients served. You will be able to scrub/assist the physician during diagnostic/interventional electrophysiology studies, during pacemaker/ICD implantations, diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies, as well as special procedures. He or she is also able to record and monitor these cases and understands the hemodynamic measurements and readings. The technologist will also be responsible for training new staff in Electrophysiology. What You Will Do In This Role: Train and mentor new EP staffContribute to the department's continuous quality improvement efforts. Assist in managing suppliesMonitor, record, and report patient symptoms and changes in condition. Assess, plan, and implement care for patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures. Assist physicians by scrubbing/assisting during diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures. Assist physicians during the insertion and removal of devices, such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). React quickly and appropriately to emergency situations during procedures. Communicate pre- and post-procedure education to patients and their families. Provide hemodynamic monitoring assistance during electrophysiology procedures. Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and assist as necessary. Maintain and update knowledge of EP procedures, continuing education as needed to perform daily duties effectively. Uphold the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values. What qualifications you will need:Must have one of the following: Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or must obtain this certification within one year of hireCurrent registration from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)]Staff with 8 years of EP procedure experience may be considered but must complete advanced registration (RCIS or RCES from CCI) or obtain their Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R) license within one year of hireAdditional requirements:Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Hearth Association required Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, guests, physicians, and colleaguesMinimum of 1 year of experience in EP or Cardiac Cath Lab Benefits TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
