As a Tesla Lead Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla s Equipment Maintenance is also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Maintenance Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance on industrial production and mechatronics equipment to sustain availability and reduce unplanned downtime
Diagnose faults and complete corrective maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, automation, and robotics systems
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC three-phase
Maintain and support PLC controls and industrial networks to keep automated equipment running reliably
Partner with process and equipment engineering to improve reliability, reduce chronic downtime, and lead breakdown recovery
Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
Complete other tasks as instructed by management, using hand/power tools, and working at heights with fall protection when required
Five (5) or more years of experience maintaining production manufacturing equipment, or equivalent training/relevant education
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid electrical knowledge, including a thorough understanding of electrical requirements and hazards (24 VDC to 480 VAC three-phase)
Proficiency with pneumatics, including solenoid valves, actuators, and control operations, with the ability to read schematics
Ability to analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions
Ability to work off-shifts as needed
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing/walking for extended periods, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs, using hand and power tools, and working at heights with fall protection when required

$44.45 - $60.23/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
