Job Description:

Extrusion Machine Operator | HIRING IMMEDIATELY | North Vernon, IN

 

 

Compensation:

 

  • Starting rate of $25.00 an hour 

 

Available Shift:

 

  • Day Shift-6:50am-7:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow all JSA’s and safety procedures/policies
  • Safely and efficiently set-up and operate extrusion lines to produce high quality HDPE film
  • Operate extrusion lines in accordance with job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, quality procedures, and operator training to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize downtime and waste
  • Ensure that proper materials are being used in accordance with procedures
  • Monitor roll weights to ensure the correct gauge is maintained throughout the shift
  • Accurately navigates and inputs information in production management system
  • Assure proper processing and labeling of film
  • Complete daily production reporting
  • Oversees the safety performance and awareness of the department
  • Maintains housekeeping to expected levels
  • Ensures consistent product quality for the department including testing methods and use of process improvement tools
  • Maintains accurate materials records and adequate inventory of raw materials
  • Responsible for assisting and trained department employees in the areas of safety, quality, production, technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, etc.
  • Must lead by example by modeling fairness, consistency, and a high level of performance coupled with an exemplary work ethic
  • Operates forklift as needed • Diagnoses and completes intermediate-level repairs
  • Maintains and Pump materials from Railcars to the Silo(s)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Strong computer and math skills required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook preferred
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Strong organization and time management skills are necessary
  • Experience with product testing, past quality experience required; experience overseeing day-to-day work of others preferred
  • Ability to work overtime when required/some weekends and holidays will be required
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
  • Ability to work 12-hour day and/or night shifts
  • The commitment to stay safe and to continue to learn and develop
