The Lead Field Services, Construction is responsible for providing excellent customer service by successfully scheduling and leading the activities of the Field Service Construction Team. Responsibilities vary by region, but may include overseeing or directly performing operation and maintenance functions on the Company's distribution assets including, but not limited to, water mains, services, and hydrants. In addition, they will be responsible for either overseeing, or performing emergency repair work and assisting with construction activities.

Leads activities of the Construction Team including scheduling, coordinating resources, and monitoring performance to establish and meet Company and Region Field Service initiatives and goals. Partners with the Superintendent to effectively manage the team.

  • Effectively communicates with the team and leadership to ensure team members are demonstrating Company values and their work is contributing to Company goals. The lead will also be responsible for training and development of team members to ensure the team has the skills required to perform the work.

  • Performs all administrative functions required to successfully perform the role, including but not limited to work order creation and closure, keeping operations and maintenance records current in the system, generating monthly production reports, approving invoices and purchasing orders, issuing and completing work orders in G4 as well as E1, and other computer based tasks.

  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and audit programs for all inventory parts and tools including the reconciliation of orders and packing slips and maintaining the budget.

  • Responsible for overseeing the Construction Fleet including vehicle inspection, repairs, billing, water tanker sampling/ inspections and DOT requirements.

  • Either directly or by leading the work of others: quote, coordinate, and deliver potable water via taker or portable totes and pumps throughout the state.

  • Either directly or by leading the work of others, coordinates and installs valves using the Valve Insertion Machine across all regions including ordering and maintaining stock and machinery.

  • Either directly or by leading the work of others: create, maintain, update and send to engineering tap cards, mapping and infrastructure measurements for all new assets.

  • Responsible for keeping track of the non-rate water loss in the region. All leaks and water loss on company, private, or customer owned lines, that does not pass through a meter must be tracked and entered into HACH by the Lead.

  • Either directly or by leading the work of others, repairs below ground assets, including mains, services, and other assets.

  • Either directly, or by directing the work of others, maintains the distribution of assets, including flushing mains, hydrant maintenance, service box repairs, and other system upkeep as needed or required. Writes flushing plans and makes updates as needed.

  • Either directly or through coordinating the work of others, installs assets, including mains, hydrants, services, and meters.

  • Works directly with customers, as well as state and local town officials, as needed, to proactively coordinate all construction related activities to establish a positive rapport with local communities.

  • Works directly with contractors, developers and owners to coordinate activities while ensuring compliance to the Company standards. Reviews plans and material submittals for all new construction in the region. Then coordinates pre-construction meetings and site visits. Provides and reviews all new service applications and paperwork. This includes ensuring safety, water quality and customer satisfaction requirements are met. Oversee linebacker work within the region.

  • Leads or directly maintains Company facilities, including snow plowing, tree work, road repair, and dam maintenance.

  • Responsible for respond 24 hours a day to distribution and Linebacker emergencies including assembling a team, notification of internal and external emergency contacts, notification of customers, and any paperwork and permits required.
