Lead Financial Project Manager

Location: Chicago, Illinois (Partial Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Financial Project Manager to guide project teams in delivering large, complex, cross-functional initiatives. This role involves assisting with portfolio status reporting, process ownership, and serving as a key representative with regulatory partners. The position is responsible for project integration, scope, time, costs, and quality, ensuring outcomes are achieved as defined while maintaining a financial focus aligned with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of one or more large, complex, and highly visible strategic change initiatives simultaneously.
• Monitor and report on project budgets, understanding the total budget and expenditures.
• Partner with C-level executives, operational directors, and process owners to translate vision into an executable plan.
• Influence across functional areas and achieve buy-in to drive cultural and organizational change initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive portfolio-level status reports synthesizing project health, risk posture, and delivery metrics.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on EPMO methodologies, including Agile, SAFe, and hybrid delivery models.
• Act as the primary PMO interface with internal regulatory stakeholders, including Business Risk & Controls, Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal.
• Provide hands-on coaching to project managers across portfolios, focusing on delivery excellence, stakeholder engagement, and agile maturity.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Project, Visio, and Office Suite. Knowledge of project management processes, practices, Scrum, or agile software development. Knowledge of scope management, requirements management, resource management, communications management, risk management, quality management, financial management, and business continuity management.

Experience: Demonstrated ability to execute on project deliverables and work collaboratively with a team. Experience with risk management, time management, and project management.

Skills: Written and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority. Effective public speaking and presentation abilities.
