Megafactory Texas is currently accepting applications for a Lead Fire-EMS Technician. The Lead Fire-EMS Technician is responsible for leading responses to medical, fire, technical rescue, and hazardous material emergencies during their assigned shift. This position provides direct leadership and mentoring to the Fire-EMS team, supports day-to-day site operations, drives employee engagement and training, and promotes continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) processes and systems.

  • Lead and respond to complex incidents including confined space, trench, high-angle rescue, entrapments, and hazardous material events to contain and mitigate threats to life, property, and the environment
  • Provide and oversee basic and advanced life support during medical emergencies involving trauma, chemical exposure, or sudden illness
  • Collaborate with the On-Site Medical (OSM) team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. Lead the development, implementation, and execution of emergency action plans, drills, and emergency communication strategies
  • Maintain a strong leadership presence across the site, engaging with production teams and stakeholders to foster a robust safety culture. Mentor and coach Fire-EMS Technicians and support EHS Specialists with safety concerns and corrective actions
  • Safely and efficiently operate emergency response vehicles and powered industrial equipment. Lead confined space inventory, classification, pre-incident planning, and facility support to minimize production downtime
  • Lead training sessions, skills evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives for the Fire-EMS team
  • Conduct shift briefings, performance feedback, and after-action reviews to improve team readiness and response effectiveness
  • Firefighter I and II (IFSAC/Pro Board or TCFP), current National Registry Paramedic or TDSHS Paramedic, HazMat Awareness/Operations (HazMat Technician strongly preferred), FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 (ICS 300 and 400 preferred)
  • Rope Rescue / Confined Space Rescue Technician certifications strongly preferred
  • Fire Instructor I or equivalent teaching certification preferred. OSHA 10 required within 6 months of hire (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience in fire, EMS, and/or industrial emergency response, with at least 1 year in a lead or training role
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Strong leadership presence with excellent communication, mentoring, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to rapidly respond to employee health emergencies, discern audible alarms, and activate emergency procedures
  • Valid driver's license required to be able to operate assigned fleet

Essential Physical Demands

  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for +10 hours daily
  • Must be comfortable working with hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to pass respiratory fit testing and operate in SCBA for extended periods
  • Must complete medical baseline assessment and demonstrate the ability to perform physically strenuous tasks associated with fire suppression and technical rescue for extended periods
