Lead Fire & Life Safety Director - Join a Premier Commercial Property

Alliance Security is seeking experienced and professional Lead Fire & Life Safety Directors (Lead FLSDs) to oversee life safety operations at a premier commercial property consisting of approximately 1.4 million square feet of Class A commercial and office space.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and emergency preparedness of a large-scale, high-profile property. The Lead FLSD serves as the primary life safety authority on-site, working closely with property management, tenants, contractors, emergency responders, and security personnel to maintain compliance with FDNY regulations and industry best practices.

Lead Fire & Life Safety Director (Lead FLSD)

Available Schedules

  • Monday through Friday, Full-Time, Overnight
  • Weekend Double - Two consecutive shifts on Saturdays & Sundays

Key Responsibilities

Fire & Life Safety Leadership

  • Lead and oversee all Fire & Life Safety operations within a 1.4 million-square-foot commercial office complex
  • Provide direction and support to FLSDs, Deputy FLSDs, and security personnel
  • Serve as the primary liaison between property management and Fire & Life Safety staff
  • Ensure compliance with FDNY regulations, client requirements, and company policies
  • Review and update Fire Safety Plans, Emergency Action Plans, and operational procedures
  • Conduct routine assessments and identify opportunities to improve safety and preparedness

Emergency Response & Incident Management

  • Direct emergency response activities involving fire alarms, evacuations, medical emergencies, and critical incidents
  • Coordinate with FDNY, EMS, law enforcement, and other responding agencies
  • Lead emergency drills, tabletop exercises, and preparedness initiatives
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and prepare detailed reports and recommendations
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents, drills, inspections, and emergency activities

Compliance & System Oversight

  • Monitor Fire Command Station operations and building life safety systems
  • Coordinate testing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs of fire protection equipment
  • Ensure all required FDNY documentation, logs, and records are maintained
  • Monitor system impairments and implement required safety measures
  • Support regulatory audits and inspections to maintain ongoing compliance

Training & Staff Development

  • Train, mentor, and develop Fire & Life Safety personnel and security staff
  • Conduct training on emergency procedures, life safety systems, and regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate personnel performance and provide coaching and development recommendations
  • Assist management with staffing assessments and operational improvements

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid F89 New York City Fire & Life Safety Director Certification
  • Valid New York State Security Guard License
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Fire & Life Safety, Emergency Management, Security Operations, Military, or a related field
  • Previous experience serving as a Lead FLSD in a large commercial high-rise environment
  • Strong knowledge of FDNY regulations, emergency response procedures, and
