KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Dimensional inspection
  • FAIR accuracy (from all Inspectors)
  • CMM/ Micro-Vu results
  • Inspection plans
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Dimensional inspections on engineering samples as requested by QE's or PM's.
  • In-process production dimensional inspections when the Micro-Vu is required to execute those inspections.
  • Dimensional inspections on PPAP or validation samples to support qualification/ validation efforts for production parts.
  • All full FAI layout inspections in accordance with AS9102 format and QMS procedures.
  • FAI layout inspections utilizing Micro-Vu executed with high degree of accuracy.
  • Timely entry of all FAI and measuring activity into department log providing organizational visibility of said activities.
  • Create in-process inspection plans based on customer defined critical criteria on customer part drawing and per QMS procedure.
  • Provide back up support for floor in-process inspection as directed based on resource needs.
  • Provide back up support for final inspection as directed based on resource needs.
  • Provide support to production machine operators or production team members related to product quality questions.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all QA documentation related to associated inspection activities involved.
  • Provide support for customer specified SPC as required.
  • Perform inspection for customers during audits/visits
  • Perform Internal Auditing per ISO9001/ ISO13485/ AS9100
  • Training for new FA Inspectors

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Quality Assurance or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and completing all required duties consistently.
  • Self-starter with the ability to motivate others.
  • Able to make decisions when required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Experienced in good manufacturing practices and quality initiatives and programs.
  • Some experience with QMS systems including ISO9001/ ISO13485/ AS9100.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team oriented environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes.
  • Physically capable of frequently lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent pace in a fast moving production environment.
  • Experience with computers and computer software such as Microsoft Office or inspection related software.
  • Some experience with CMM's or vision systems for inspection.
  • Experience with engineering part drawings related to part geometry, dimensions & tolerances, drawing views, and interpretation of requirements.
  • Proficient use of hand-held measuring instruments. Experience with micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators, and optical comparator.
  • Knowledge and interpretation skills regarding the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
  • Working knowledge of inspecting techniques and testing procedures.
