We are seeking an experienced Lead Framer with a strong background in commercial metal framing to lead field operations on construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage crews, maintain high-quality standards, and drive projects to successful and timely completion. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in leading teams in fast-paced commercial construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate field crews to ensure productivity, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Manage daily on-site operations, proactively coordinating tasks to keep projects on schedule or ahead of timeline.
- Perform and oversee commercial metal framing, drywall installation, and layout work.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality control, ensuring all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Plan, prepare, and maintain organized job sites, including cleanliness, staging, and daily readiness.
- Develop and manage material lists; coordinate and order materials as needed to prevent project delays.
- Track and document daily progress, crew assignments, and job site activities for reporting and communication.
- Install and assemble framing systems, ceilings (including ACT), drywall, door frames, and hardware.
- Ensure proper installation of temporary job site structures such as scaffolding, ladders, signage, and enclosures.
- Safely operate construction tools and equipment (power tools, generators, pumps, shop vacs, etc.).
- Oversee material handling, transport, and storage with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Assist with demolition, teardown, and general labor tasks as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and shop inventory in proper working condition.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and solve problems quickly to keep projects moving forward.
