Lead Glazier
As our Lead Glazier, you won't just install glass, you'll lead the crew that brings complex projects to life. Your expertise will guide daily operations. Ensuring installation meets All American Glass and Manufacturer's installation quality standards and helps keep projects running smoothly and on budget. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring teammates, managing schedules, and maintaining quality while prioritizing safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion safe work habits and enforce OSHA standards across job sites.
- Install residential showers, mirrors and insulated glass units
- Install storefront systems, doors, hardware, and perform quality assurance audits.
- Lead and direct daily work tasks to crew members to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Review and interpret project plans, developing schedules aligned with budgets.
- Assign daily tasks and offer on-the-job training to crew members.
- Prepare for upcoming projects by organizing materials and equipment.
- Maintain clean organized job sites, shops and company vehicles.
- Maintain open communication and positive relationships across the team and all departments.
- Complete and submit daily reports and requests for needed supplies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a glazier with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of commercial glass installation, including storefront and curtain wall systems with the willingness and ability to train crew members as necessary.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and project specifications accurately.
- Proficient use of hand tools, saws, suction cups, power cups and construction equipment.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and best practices in the glass industry.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record to drive company vehicles.
- Ability to work a 40-50 hour week and travel as project needs require.
- Adaptable to varied weather and noise conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, do repetitive tasks and work at varied heights.
