Job Description:
In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of athletic fields using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment and lead the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader.
Examples of Duties:
- Instructs other members of crews in proper operational procedures and techniques.
- Assists the Crew Leader in coordinating the tasks to be performed by the crew; supervises the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader.
- May requisition or purchase supplies and equipment.
- Rakes leaves and clay infields.
- Paints and chalks foul lines.
- Cleans grounds and removes litter.
- Assists with the setup of fields for practices and games.
- Responsible for tools assigned to the truck and will be required to help maintain equipment by use of a checklist.
- Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as ball field drag, spreader, and weed trimming equipment.
- Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance.
- Requires working knowledge of small hand tools such as string trimmers, stick-edgers, blowers, and backpack sprayers.

- Operates city vehicles and equipment, such as trucks and trailers.
- Uses city-issued devices to electronically track and update work orders.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and 1 year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of baseball field measurements and maintenance techniques.
- Valid state issued driver's license.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
