Summary of Job Details:
Assists the Superintendent of Grounds with the leadership of the unit. Responsible for general and preventative maintenance grounds activities for a specific area. Under the direction of the Associate Director and Superintendent, uses independent judgment with operational and personnel issues. Responsibilities include: planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day work of assigned crew comprised of career and student employees.
Required Qualifications:
• 1-3 years proven experience operating landscape equipment that includes: ride-on mowers, tractors, backhoe, turf sweeper, aerial lift, chainsaws, and handheld landscape equipment/ tools.
• 3-5 years proven experience in a commercial landscaping organization performing work and leading crews that include landscape installation and maintenance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of plant care, safe equipment use, landscape irrigation principles, and horticultural pest control.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to contribute to a diverse team.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
Special Conditions of Employment:
• Must speak and read English fluently. Work schedule: M-F, 5am - 1:30pm.
• Required to hold a valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies and procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
• Satisfactory criminal history background check

Hiring/Budgeted Range: $26.67 to $28.86/hr.
Full Salary Range: $26.67 to $38.11/hr.
Working Days and Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
