About the Role: Wee Friends Child Care Center II is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead GSRP Teacher to join our team in Commerce Township, MI! In this rewarding role, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners by delivering high-quality early childhood education through Michigan's Great Start Readiness Program.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate GSRP curriculum aligned with Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of Quality
Conduct child assessments and maintain accurate developmental records using approved tools
Build and maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Collaborate with families through regular communication, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences
Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
Participate in required GSRP professional development, training, and program evaluations
Coordinate with support staff, administrators, and community partners to meet the needs of each child
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required for GSRP Lead Teacher) OR A VALID CDA OR ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
Valid Michigan teaching certificate or ability to obtain one preferred
Prior experience in a GSRP, Head Start, or preschool classroom setting strongly preferred
Knowledge of Michigan's Great Start Readiness Program guidelines and requirements
Experience with child assessment tools such as Teaching Strategies GOLD
Strong communication and family engagement skills
Ability to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements
