Lead Home Service Technician
Location: Serving customers throughout the North and Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois

TruBlue of Chicagoland North is a locally owned home services company focused on delivering professional handyman repairs, home maintenance, safety upgrades, and accessibility solutions. We serve seniors, busy adults, families, and homeowners who want dependable, respectful, and skilled service from people they can trust.
We are hiring a Lead Home Service Technician to perform high-quality residential repair and maintenance work while helping lead and support other technicians as the business grows. This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who is highly skilled, professional, organized, and interested in long-term leadership opportunities. The right person can help shape the standard for our field team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced home repair, maintenance, and remodeling projects
- Lead by example in quality, communication, safety, and professionalism
- Support, coach, and mentor other technicians as the team grows
- Handle projects involving carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
- Preference for experience doing kitchen and/or bathroom remodels
- Communicate clearly with customers and help manage expectations on-site
- Support senior safety and home accessibility projects
- Ensure work is completed accurately, cleanly, and to TruBlue standards
- Help identify project needs, materials, and possible next steps
- Handle estimates as-needed with prospective customers
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on handyman, remodeling, construction, or residential repair experience
- Experience mentoring, leading, or supervising other technicians preferred
- Strong multi-trade skills, especially carpentry, finish work, kitchens, bathrooms, drywall, and general home repairs
- Must have your own tools
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Must be willing to do a background check after a conditional offer
- Reliable transportation to and from work required
- Excellent customer communication skills
- Professional appearance and strong customer-first mindset
- Career-oriented, accountable, and interested in growing with the company
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time, W-2 employment
- Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience and leadership ability
- Company vehicle provided after successful completion of onboarding, subject to company policy.
