Position Summary:
The HR Project Lead is responsible for leading and delivering large-scale, cross-functional Human Resources initiatives that advance organizational strategy, operational excellence, and workforce effectiveness. This role partners closely with HR leadership, clinical and operational stakeholders, and enterprise partners to plan, execute, and sustain projects that strengthen HR capabilities, standardize practices, and enable data-informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Large-Scale Project Leadership
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of complex, enterprise-level HR projects, including scope, timelines, dependencies, resources, risks, and deliverables.
Manage multiple concurrent initiatives across technical and non-technical domains, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
Drive consistent execution and accountability across large, matrixed teams.
HR Process Standardization & Process Improvement:
Lead initiatives to standardize HR processes, tools, templates, and documentation to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Develop and maintain project management templates, playbooks, and best practices to support HR project delivery.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational optimization within HR functions.
Stakeholder Partnership & Engagement/Collaboration:
Partner effectively within a matrix environment, ensuring projects align with collective bargaining agreements, policies, and organizational protocols.
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, IT, Finance, Legal, and operational leaders.
Facilitate governance structures, steering committees, and escalation pathways as needed.
Data Analysis, Reporting & Decision Support:
Apply data analysis to assess current-state performance, identify trends, and inform project decisions.
Develop dashboards, metrics, and executive-ready reports to track progress, outcomes, and risks.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Change Facilitation & Communication:
Assist in development and execute change management and communication strategies to support adoption and sustainability of HR initiatives.
Prepare clear, concise communications, project updates, and leadership presentations.
Support leaders and teams through organizational and process changes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading enterprise projects.
Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations.
Experience managing projects in a matrix environment.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage both technical (systems, data, analytics) and non-technical (process, policy, change) projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional certification (PMP, PgMP, Agile, Prosci, SHRM-CP/SCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or
Experience in healthcare or academic medical center environments strongly preferred.
Proven experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives with significant organizational impact.
Advanced experience in data analysis, reporting, and HR or workforce analytics.
Familiarity with HRIS, analytics, or reporting platforms (e.g. Workday, PeopleSoft, Visier).
