Step into a role where you run the job from start to finish. As our Lead HVAC Installation Technician, you’ll arrive prepared, verify the scope and materials, organize the day’s plan, guide a helper, and deliver a flawless system replacement or new install—no constant oversight required. We champion craftsmanship over shortcuts, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing it right the first time.
A Day in the Life
Review the assigned installation, confirm equipment and materials, and map out the workflow to stay within planned labor hours.
Lead and mentor a helper or junior installer, keeping the site moving efficiently and safely.
Execute full-system change-outs and new installs—from teardown through final commissioning—independently.
Troubleshoot on-site, flag issues before leaving, communicate changes to management, and identify when a change order is appropriate.
Protect customer property, maintain a tidy work area, and complete all installation documentation accurately.
Technical Scope
You’ll work across a wide mix of residential and light-commercial systems and tasks:
Equipment: Gas furnaces, central A/C, heat pumps, air handlers, boilers, mini-splits/ductless, condensers, and evaporator coils (experience with York equipment is a plus).
Piping & Venting: Refrigerant piping (brazing, proper evacuation, charging), gas piping, PVC venting, and condensate routing.
Electrical & Controls: Thermostats, low- and line-voltage controls, and fundamental electrical terminations.
Sheet Metal & Ductwork: Fabrication of transitions, fittings, and field duct modifications as required.
Commissioning: System start-up, airflow verification, operational testing, and reducing callbacks through meticulous checks.
