Founding Lead HVAC Technician / Service Manager

Location: Central & Southern Maine
Job Type: Full-Time

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HVAC professional to take on a leadership role with a newly established service operation backed by a successful property management organization. This position is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond a traditional technician role and play a key part in building and leading a growing HVAC division.

The successful candidate will begin as the lead field technician while helping develop operational processes, establish service standards, and support future team growth. You'll have access to an existing customer base, company vehicle, tools, equipment, administrative support, and a steady pipeline of work from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and install residential and commercial HVAC systems.
  • Perform service calls independently while delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Plan daily schedules and optimize service routes.
  • Prepare job estimates and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, tenants, and property managers.
  • Help establish service procedures, safety standards, and operational best practices.
  • Train and mentor future HVAC technicians as the team expands.
  • Assist with recruiting and developing additional service staff.
  • Support the long-term growth and operational success of the HVAC division.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience working with a variety of HVAC systems, including heat pumps, mini-splits, boilers, hydronic heating systems, oil, propane, natural gas, commercial equipment, refrigeration, or HVAC controls.
  • Ability to complete service work independently.
  • EPA certification and any applicable HVAC licenses required for the work performed.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus but not required.
  • Interest in growing into a management role and helping build a successful service team.
