Job Title: Modality Team Lead
Reports to: Site Manager, Regional Manager, or Department Manager/Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
*This position does not meet the criteria for exemption from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act; thus, you will be eligible to receive overtime compensation, as appropriate. Overtime requires prior approval from your supervisor.
Job Summary
This position leads and promotes the operational needs of the In-Suite Assistant (ISA) functional role, overseeing ISA team members’ responsibilities, and support/perform Lead ISA administrative tasks, in order to provide quality patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview potential candidates alongside hiring manager, and provide feedback regarding hiring qualified technologists.
- Coordinate onboarding and training schedule alongside managers for new ISA’s
- Maintains a minimum level of team member turnover.
- Sets clear and specific expectations/objectives for team members and the department.
- Monitors and documents performance during performance periods and provides documentation to the manager.
- Provides the manager with input on performance.
- Recognizes and provides coaching and counseling, with discipline input, as appropriate.
- Keeps all team members informed regarding internal issues and external developments.
- Provides team members with support and motivation.
- Enroll new ISAs in Alpha RT Course
- Manage all CPR certs, Alpha RT Level 2 Safety Certs and Competency Forms.
- Create continuing education training materials to be circulated for existing staff.
- Oversee, manage, and educate ISA on yellow stickers that are relative to the position (i.e. proper notes, contrast documentation, worksheets, proper positioning).
- Train on QC workflow and managing QC binders.
- Main point of contact for Deep Health Team when coordinating user interface feedback sessions for ISAs.
- Re-education and training onsite, if warranted.
- Travel to assist ISAs, to include Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, and HVRA, if necessary.
- Exhibits objectivity and openness to other’s views; ability to balance team members and individual responsibilities.
- Promotes flexibility in staff utilization across teams and departments.
- Delegates work appropriately and follows through to ensure optimal results.
- Provides team members development opportunities as appropriate.
- Adheres to all OSHA regulations, RadNet practices, and generally accepted safety protocols.
- Displays willingness and ability to make tough decisions.
- Demonstrates sound judgment.
- Integrates changes smoothly.
- Responds professionally under pressure.
- Perform In-Suite Assistant (ISA) duties to maintain technical skills and to alleviate staffing shortages.
- Supports the manager(s) in facility initiatives.

- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year degree preferred; completion of a radiology program preferred.
- Obtain necessary licensure, registrations, and certifications.
- At least one year experience in medical setting; more preferred.
- Advanced level of knowledge, experience, and certification of modality supported.
- Prior experience in managing team members preferred.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Completion of approved MR Technologist Assistant program and hands-on clinical training; must maintain certification.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, public relations and verbal and written communication.
- Must be very detail oriented.
- Must be able to assist in lifting patients onto table.
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Designations - Preferred
- Strong computer skills.
- Effective time management skills.
Quality Standards
- Familiarity with and ability to use equipment in assigned modality; RIS, imaging equipment, and PACS, if necessary.
- Ability to utilize the principles, theories, practices, techniques and methods of the procedures the team member(s) conduct in order to accomplish all duties and responsibilities.

Physical Demands
This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling or palpating, speaking, listening, and high level of cognition. Also, must be able to lift over 50 pounds, occasionally. All employees are to assist and participate as members of a lift assistance team (for special accommodation patients or any patient requiring assistance onto a table or equipment placement) to initiate or complete an exam or procedure.
Working Environment
Work in a medical office setting with low to moderate noise levels.
