Join our mission

At Greif, we help package life’s essentials. From Customized Polymer to Sustainable Fiber and Durable Metal solutions, our teams in 40 countries support the world’s most demanding industries. Our vision—being the customer service company in the world—starts with experts like you who keep operations reliable, safe, and efficient. Learn more at www.greif.com.

Your challenge

Picture a high-speed line signaling a fault. You trace it from the HMI to a PLC input, confirm with your meter, consult the P&ID, and isolate a failed prox sensor. You replace, recalibrate, verify the loop, and bring the asset back online—capturing every detail in the CMMS. Later, your infrared route spots a hot motor bearing; you schedule a planned replacement, avoiding an unplanned outage. This is how you’ll create uptime every day.

Impact you’ll make

  • Restore equipment to safe, stable operation across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic domains.
  • Own instrumentation and controls tasks—installation, configuration, calibration, and loop checks.
  • Pinpoint PLC/HMI/VFD faults at the device and I/O level; apply schematics, single-line diagrams, ladder logic, and diagnostic software.
  • Run preventive and predictive maintenance programs (vibration, infrared, oil analysis, ultrasound) and translate findings into action.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement reliability enhancements and spare-part strategies.
  • Plan work, coordinate with operations, and manage safe startup and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain complete calibration records, as-found/as-left data, and robust CMMS asset histories.
  • Advise on critical spares, MRO inventory, vendors, and service contracts.
  • Update drawings, propose design-for-reliability improvements, and mentor peers; direct small projects or contractor work.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 4+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Preferred: 2-year degree in Manufacturing.
  • Strength in troubleshooting across electrical/electronic/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic and instrumentation systems.
  • Skilled with calibrations and loop checks; familiar with common industrial instrumentation and communication protocols.
  • Proven PLC/HMI/drive diagnostics at the device/I/O level; strong schematic and P&ID interpretation.
  • CMMS proficiency and knowledge of reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR).
  • Dedication to safety, compliance, and cross-functional teamwork; effective communicator and mentor.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to enhance uptime and quality.

Tools and tech

  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
  • 120/208/240/480 VAC systems
