Position Overview The Lead HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Installer Technician is responsible for leading the installation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. The Lead Installer will serve as the primary point of contact on installation projects and may provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Setup:
Lead the installation of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, and ductwork, in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
Perform wiring and ensure proper connection of electrical components.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct routine maintenance, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing filters.
Diagnose and repair system issues, including mechanical and electrical components.
Test system performance and ensure optimal functionality.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Use specialized tools to identify malfunctions and resolve them effectively.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Customer Service:
Communicate clearly with clients about system conditions, repair options, and preventative maintenance tips.
Provide cost estimates and recommendations for system upgrades or replacements.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to local and national safety regulations and building codes.
Safely handle refrigerants and hazardous materials.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate service records and reports.
Complete work orders and ensure timely submission.
Leadership:
Act as the lead on installation projects, ensuring quality standards are met.
Provide direction and mentorship to junior technicians or apprentices as needed.

Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred (e.g., EPA certification).
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in HVAC installation; lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and HVAC software.
Excellent problem-solving, time management, and leadership skills.
Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.
Work Environment
May involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requires lifting heavy equipment and tools.
May include evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
