Lead Instructor Job Description
Position Title: Lead Pilates Instructor – Multi-StudioPosition Reports to: Regional Manager / General ManagerLocations: Club Pilates Uptown, Mid City, Harahan & MandevilleStatus: Hourly + Bonus + Commission
PURPOSE
The Lead Pilates Instructor is responsible for providing safe, effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations while serving as the instructional leader for Club Pilates Mandeville, Uptown, Mid City, and Harahan.
This is a multi-studio leadership position overseeing the instructional teams across all four locations. The Lead Instructor is expected to set the standard for instructional excellence, consistency, professionalism, safety, and adherence to Club Pilates education and brand standards.
The Lead Instructor must be willing and able to travel between Mandeville, Uptown, Mid City, and Harahan as necessary to support instructors, conduct evaluations and trainings, assist with scheduling and coverage, and meet the operational needs of each studio.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 450-hour Comprehensive Pilates education, including Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Springboard
At least 2 years of experience teaching Pilates
Up-to-date CPR & First Aid training and willingness to maintain certification
Deep understanding of and alignment with Club Pilates methods
Comfortable learning and adding TRX, Functional Standing Movement (Barre), and TriggerPoint modalities to repertoire
Demonstrated anatomical knowledge and strong attention to safety
Demonstrated group reformer instruction abilities with the ability to modify for different individuals in class
Experience teaching 6 or more participants in an apparatus-based group class
Passion for learning and willingness to complete continuing education trainings or workshops
Team player and proven leader
Pleasant demeanor and excellent customer service skills
Professional and effective communication skills with proven public speaking abilities
Punctual and reliable
Ability to recognize areas for improvement and proactively communicate with management
Strong problem-solving skills and excellent judgment
Ability to work harmoniously with members, management, and instructors across multiple studio locations
Professional, neat, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
Proficient in, or able to learn, ClubReady software for basic use
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Mandeville, Uptown, Mid City, and Harahan as required by the position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Serve as Lead Instructor for Club Pilates Uptown, Mid City, Harahan & Mandeville
Provide leadership, oversight, and support to the instructional teams at all four studio locations
Travel between all four studios as necessary based on training, evaluation, staffing, scheduling, and operational needs
Maintain open availability for a minimum of 15 hours (4 shifts) per week
Provide Pilates instruction, including Intro classes, group apparatus classes, Private Training Assessments, and private and semi-private training, as scheduled by management and pursuant to Club Pilates standards
Teach at least 2 Intro classes per week
Participate in monthly Lead Instructor conference calls and subsequently train instructional staff on topics covered
Work with management to ensure schedules, class types, times, levels, and instructor assignments across all four studios are structured to maximize occupancy and member satisfaction
Assist with sub requests, instructor coverage, and schedule adjustments across all four locations as needed
Stay up to date with and implement Club Pilates education standards at all times
Track, observe, and review instructors for proficiency and performance
Mentor and coach instructors as needed to ensure their teaching reflects Club Pilates standards
Provide consistent instructional expectations and standards across Mandeville, Uptown, Mid City, and Harahan
Identify instructional concerns, training needs, or performance issues and communicate them proactively to management
Plan and provide member workshops
Plan and execute instructor workshops and continuing education opportunities
Ensure that images or instructional content posted on social media reflect proper form, safety standards, and Club Pilates brand standards
Be skilled in the proper and safe use of equipment during each class, including but not limited to hand weights, Chair, Reformer, Springboard, TRX, Magic Circle, and other equipment as needed
Visually inspect equipment prior to class to ensure it is in good working order and safe to use
Maintain studio tidiness and return equipment to standards established by studio management
Arrive at the required time prior to each scheduled class or private/semi-private session
Participate in networking and community events as needed to help generate new business
Maintain honesty and integrity
Perform other duties as assigned
