Lead Java Developer
Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA, 15222 - 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $65 to 80/hr. on W2 ONLY
Length of Assignment: 3 Months Contract to Hire role
Function of the Group: Regulatory Reporting
Industry background: Banking or financial background is a plus.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Core Java & Backend Development,
2. API Development,
3. Frameworks & Libraries,
4. Database & SQL.
Must Have Technical Skills:
1. 5+ years of hands on Java development experience,
2. Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+),
3. Solid understanding of: Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Design patterns (Factory, Singleton, DAO, etc.), & Exception handling, multithreading, and collections,
4. Experience building scalable, maintainable backend services,
5. Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs,
6. Hands on with Spring Boot / Spring MVC,
7. API design best practices: HTTP methods, status codes, Request/response validation, Versioning strategies,
8. Experience with JSON, request serialization/deserialization,
9. Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger / OpenAPI),
10. API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar,
11. Spring Framework (Core, Boot, MVC),
12. Data Power,
13. ORM frameworks such as: Hibernate / JPA,
14. Experience with Microservices architecture is strongly preferred.,
15. Strong hands on experience with SQL,
16. Experience with relational databases such as: Oracle or Teradata DevOps,
17. Experience with Maven / Gradle,
18. Version control using Git/bitbucket,
19. CI/CD exposure (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, udeploy etc.),
20. Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
1. Experience deploying applications on: Application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, etc.) & Containers (Docker preferred),
2. Ability to write and optimize: Complex joins, Subqueries, Stored procedures (nice to have),
3. Dependency Injection and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP)
Education/Certifications: Bachelors Degree Required
Interview Process: 2-3 rounds. 1 - initial screening with hiring manager. 2 - technical interview with team leads. 3 - only if necessary.
