Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Java Spring Boot Developer to join a fast-paced banking technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud technologies. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and proven experience delivering mission-critical solutions within the banking and financial services domain.

The candidate will lead a team of developers, collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and DevOps engineers, and drive the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance banking applications.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise banking applications.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to development teams.
• Establish development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to architecture and security standards.
• Drive technical discussions and solution design sessions.

Application Development

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, resilient, and high-performance distributed systems.
• Develop integration solutions with internal and external banking systems.
• Implement event-driven architectures using messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Develop reusable frameworks and components to improve development efficiency.

Banking Domain Delivery

• Work closely with business teams to understand banking products, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver solutions supporting:

  • Payments and Transfers
  • Lending Platforms
  • Treasury Services
  • Customer Onboarding
  • AML/KYC Compliance

Cloud & DevOps

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.

Security & Compliance

• Implement secure coding practices and banking-grade security standards.
• Design authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and SSO solutions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and data protection controls.
• Participate in risk assessments and security reviews.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or team lead experience.
• Strong experience in Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech environments.
• Experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical applications.
